CHASE YOUNG AND CARL GRANDERSON 2025 SEASON ANALYSIS

New Orleans Saints edge rushers Chase Young and Carl Granderson were given different responsibilities in defensive coordinator Brandon Staley's 3-4 scheme, and each responded well. Young, in fact, produced his best NFL season despite missing the first five games while recovering from a calf injury. Young established a new career high with 10 sacks, tied career highs with four passes defensed, three fumble recoveries and a fumble return for a touchdown, forced two fumbles and had two quarterback hits. Granderson had six sacks, his second most in a season, to go with nine quarterback hits, 11 tackles for loss, four passes defensed and his first career interception.

BEST GAME OF CHASE YOUNG'S 2025 SEASON

Young was a monster in New Orleans' 34-26 victory over Tennessee on Dec. 28 at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tenn. His 1.5 sacks included a sack-strip-recovery that he returned 33 yards for a touchdown to pull the Saints to within 13-10 in the second quarter. He finished with two quarterback hits, a tackle for loss and four tackles.

BEST GAME OF CARL GRANDERSON'S 2025 SEASON

Grando saved his best for last. Even though the Saints lost 19-17 to the Falcons at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Jan. 4 in the season finale, Grando was all over the place — his first career interception in the red zone thwarted a Falcon scoring opportunity, and he added 1.5 sacks, three quarterback hits, three tackles for loss and a career high-tying 10 tackles.

Chase Young, on feeling at home with the New Orleans Saints:

I want to be a Saint forever. I feel like I have definitely have found my home. You feel the love from this organization. My first year in Washington, I never saw the owner. It was different. I never saw our (general manager). I come here and they’re on field at practice, talking about this, talking about that. This is a real family-oriented vibe. I’m definitely happy where I am.
