DAVON GODCHAUX AND BRYAN BRESEE 2025 SEASON ANALYSIS

The Saints' defensive interior was instrumental in the team's success this season, fueling a run defense that ranked 6th in yards per carry (3.97) and a pass rush that ranked 5th in sack percentage (9.16%).

Davon Godchaux finished his first season with the Black and Gold and ninth in the NFL appearing in all 17 games including 14 starts. He accrued 43 tackles (14 solo) including two tackles for loss and a forced fumble.

Bryan Bresee started in 15 games in his third season with the Saints, missing the final two contests due to a knee injury. Bresee totaled a career-high 37 tackles (15 solo), adding 2.5 sacks and five tackles for loss. Bresee deflected three passes and forced a fumble against the New York Giants in Week 5 that was returned by safety Jordan Howden for a touchdown. Bresee also hurdled the line to block a field goal in Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals.

Godchaux saved his best performance for his former team, the New England Patriots in Week 6. The Saints defensive tackle recorded a season-high seven combined tackles (three solo) including one tackle for loss and a forced fumble. He and the rest of the defensive line limited the Patriots rushing game to 73 yards on 31 carries (2.4 yards per carry).

In Week 13 against the Miami Dolphins, Bresee tallied four tackles (two solo) and sacked quarterback Tua Tagovailoa for a loss of seven yards.

Davon Godchaux on a close game in Week 6 against the New England Patriots:

It's frustrating. We can't sugarcoat it. It's the NFL. This is the league. Like I was telling them, good teams find a way to win those games and I think I know for sure we have a good team. But we got to put it on film. We got to put it on Sundays. There's no doubt in my mind that the coaches put us in the best positions to win those games. We just got to do it. That's the difference between good teams and okay teams — teams that are going to be playing in January. We just got to find a way to win them... The difference between good and great, we got to find a way to close those games.
