DEVAUGHN VELE 2025 SEASON ANALYSIS

After being acquired by the New Orleans Saints in the offseason, Devaughn Vele made a noticeable impact during the 2025 campaign before his season was cut short by a shoulder injury. The 6‑foot‑5 wide receiver totaled 25 receptions for 293 yards and 2 touchdowns, averaging 11.7 yards per catch across 13 games. Vele emerged as a reliable target, especially on third downs, and provided much‑needed size and catch ability in the Saints' passing game. His contributions validated New Orleans' decision to trade draft capital to bring him to the roster, and his progress bodes well for an expanded role in 2026.

BEST GAME OF DEVAUGHN VELE'S 2025 SEASON

Vele's standout performance came in Week 2 against the San Francisco 49ers, when he caught a 3‑yard touchdown that demonstrated his reliability in key moments. Beyond the score, he consistently created separation, secured contested catches, and helped move the chains throughout the game. His composure and focus in high-pressure situations underscored his value as a dependable weapon in the Saints' passing attack, giving the team a dynamic option to turn critical plays into momentum.

Saints wide receivers coach Keith Williams on Vele's versatility and skill set:

He’s more of a fluid mover than I thought he was. So it allows me to coach and expect him to be able to run every route on a route tree. When some guys are not 100% fluid movers, there’s only certain routes that they can excel in. Because they just, athletically, can’t move the way they need to to be elite in every single break, every single movement that it takes, to run every route on a route tree. He, at his height, is able to run every route on a route tree.
