THE LAST MEETING BETWEEN THE SAINTS AND THE GIANTS

New Orleans Saints 30, New York Giants 7,Giants Stadium, Dec. 24, 2006 – The Saints fell behind by a touchdown early, then roared back with 30 unanswered points on a cold and windy afternoon on the strength of rugged performances of the defense, running backs Reggie Bush and Deuce McAllister and a gutsy fourth down call near the end of the half that produced the go-ahead touchdown. Bush posted the first 100-yard rushing day of his career with 126 on 20 carries, including a one-yardtouchdown plunge in the third quarter, while McAllister pounded out 108 yards on 27 attempts as the duo combined for the club's first pair of 100-yard rushers in a game since 1990. A fourth-and-one two-yard touchdown catch by WR Marques Colston near the end of the first half gave the Saints the lead for good. While the Giants took a quick lead with a 55-yardtouchdown pass from QB Eli Manning to wideout Plaxico Burress, on their final 13 possessions they managed just 75 yards as they were held to six first downs-with only two in the second half. A stingy Saint defense didn't allow the Giants to convert once on ten third down opportunities.
