Saints Offensive Line Candidates for NFL Award

The National Football League, Prilosec OTC® and Pro Football Hall of Fame member JOHN MADDEN announced today the start of fan voting at www.nfl.com/prilosecotc for the inaugural Madden Most Valuable Protectors Award, presented by Prilosec OTC. Fans will serve as the final piece of the puzzle in helping determine the NFL's best offensive line for the 2009 NFL regular season.

John Madden and the Award's Purple Ribbon Panel narrowed the list to five (5) finalists: the INDIANAPOLIS COLTS, NEW ORLEANS SAINTS, NEW YORK JETS, PHILADELPHIA EAGLES and TENNESSEE TITANS.

Fans can now visit www.nfl.com/prilosecotc to review each of the five offensive lines and then cast their votes.

The recipient of the first Madden Most Valuable Protectors Award presented by Prilosec OTC will be announced on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 in South Florida in the week leading up to Super Bowl XLIV.

"A lot of hours and analysis have gone into pairing down our list of contending offensive lines into a list of five finalists," said John Madden. "Criteria for selecting the ultimate winner will take into account a combination of analysis from me and our Purple Ribbon Panel, offensive line performance statistics and fan voting. It's not going to be easy to select the winner. We've seen a lot of hard work from offensive lines around the league this year."

All season long Madden has been closely tracking the top offensive lines in the NFL with a select group of NFL Network experts that comprise the Purple Ribbon Panel. This group includes NFL Network analysts JAMIE DUKES, MARSHALL FAULK, STEVE MARIUCCI and NFL Network host RICH EISEN.
