Reporting Day

<span>The New Orleans Saints reported for training camp today at Millsaps College in Jackson, MS. Despite the sweltering southern heat, the 2008 training camp officially commenced with an 11:00 a.m. team meeting in a large conference room where the basics of training camp were spelled out for the players.

Following lunch and position meetings the team went through a conditioning test this afternoon. The players will then reconvene for meetings this evening in preparation for their first practice of the summer, which will take place at 8:50 a.m. tomorrow morning.

Practices, which are free and open to the public, start Thursday and generally run from 8:50-11:00 a.m. and from 4:20-6:00 p.m. each day, although there are some slight alterations to the schedule on certain days.  Click here for a complete listings of dates and times for the Saints' training camp practices.

Seemingly compelling stories abound at this year's training camp, ranging from the broadest subjects such as what will it take for the team to rebound from a rough 2007 season and return to the form the squad showed in 2006 when they advanced to the NFC Championship game. While other stories, such as the recent acquisition of TE Jeremy Shockey and the returns of RB Deuce McAllister, CB Mike McKenzie and others will garner their fair share of headlines and be examined under the proverbial microscope.

NewOrleansSaints.com will keep you covered every step of the way, beginning this evening after Head Coach Sean Payton and Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis meet with the press for the first time this season and kick off the 2008 Saints season!
