            <span style="">A look at Saints' first-round pick Malcolm Jenkins' by the numbers:</span>                 
            <span style="">Zero</span> – Receiving touchdowns allowed on 30 catches in his area in 2008. In primary coverage, the receivers he was assigned to were credited with just seven receptions during his senior season.  

12 – Jenkins is the 12th player the Saints have chosen out of Ohio State, which ranks third in club history all-time following USC (16) and Nebraska (15).

45 – Career starts at Ohio State, including 26 at cornerback, 16 at what was known as the "boundary" cornerback in the Buckeyes' defensive system and three at nickel back.

196 – Career tackles, including 124 solo stops. Of his tackles, 13.5 were behind the line of scrimmage for 47 yards in losses.

Three – A three-time All-Big 10 selection, 2006-08. Jenkins was voted the Jim Thorpe Award winner in 2008, given to the nation's finest defensive back, and a semifinalist for the Bednarik Award, given to the nation's top defensive player.

57 – Tackles as a senior, a career-high total that included an eight-yard sack and four stops behind the line of scrimmage.

Three – An excellent special teams performer throughout his career, Jenkins blocked three punts at Ohio State, including two as a senior that he returned for 28 yards.

42 – Jenkins is the 54th cornerback New Orleans has selected in team history. The spot ranks fourth among the most frequently-drafted positions, trailing running backs (65), wide receivers (63) and linebackers (60).

Six – Jenkins opened six games as a freshman, three at corner late in the season and a trio of contests as a nickel-back when the school opened up with an extra defensive back.

Two – Interceptions returned for touchdowns during his career, tying the Ohio State all-time record.

49 – Career games at Ohio State without ever allowing a touchdown reception while locked up with a receiver in man-to-man coverage.

Seven – Jenkins held seven receivers that were his main coverage assignment as a senior without a catch.
