The National Football League announced Wednesday that New Orleans Saints center Jonathan Goodwin has been added to the NFC Pro Bowl roster, replacing Dallas Cowboys center Andre Gurode.

The Pro Bowl selection is the first of Goodwin's eight-year career and he joins teammates Drew Brees, Jahri Evans, Darren Sharper, Jon Stinchcomb and Jonathan Vilma on the NFC All-Star squad. The 6-3, 318-pound center from the University of Michigan started all 16 games and helped lead the Saints to the most yards in the NFL for the second consecutive season.

The Pro Bowl is scheduled to be played in South Florida on Sunday, January 31. Players whose teams are participating in the Super Bowl will not play in the All-Star game.
