Former Saint Joe Wendryhoski Passes Away

Former New Orleans Saint Joe Wendryhoski has passed away at the age of 69. An original member of the Saints, Wendryhoski played for the Saints in 1967 and 1968 as a starting center under Tom Fears. Wendryhoski had been battling a form of cancer.

Wendryhoski also served as a Vice President for the Saints Hall of Fame Museum in Kenner and now in the Louisiana Superdome since its inception in 1988, representing New Orleans Saints Alumni. Wendryhoski maintained residences in Metairie and in Wisconsin and was the owner of Joe Wendryhoski Realty in Metairie.

Wendryhoski also played three seasons for the Los Angeles Rams from 1964-1967 prior to coming to New Orleans. Active in the community with such events as the "Pole Bowl," benefiting "A Child's Wish," Wendryhoski is survived by his wife, Brenda. Mr. Wendryhoski will be laid to rest on Monday in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin.
