The Green Bay Packers dominated from start to finish in a 34-0 victory over the New Orleans Saints on Monday night at Lambeau Field.
The loss dropped the Saints to 5-10; the win improved Green Bay to 11-4 and clinched the team a playoff spot. It was the first time a team was shut out in the NFL this season.
The Packers scored touchdowns on their first three possessions and were never threatened by the Saints. Green Bay added two field goals in the second half and a touchdown run.
Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler made the start in place of the injured Derek Carr but with all of the team's top-line play-makers injured had little success in sustaining drives. The Saints played without running back Alvin Kamara, receivers Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed and Marques Valdes-Scantling and tight end Taysom Hill. Rattler was 15 of 30 for 153 yards with an interception and a lost a fumble. Running back Kendre Miller had eight carries for 15 yards. Rattler gained 28 yards on five scrambles.
Saints center Erik McCoy left the game after the first possession with an elbow injury. Guard Lucas Patrick left on the saints' final drive.
The Saints will play host to the Las Vegas Raiders (3-12) on Sunday at the Caesars Superdome.
