New Orleans Saints Head Coach Sean Payton
Conference Call with New Orleans Media

When you trade for a player like Max Unger the makeup and leadership stuff is that something you know in advance?

"I think you have a pretty good feel for (that) sometimes maybe a stronger feel would be the right word. In his case he and I happen to share the same agent. I remember the report on him when he was coming out (for the 2009 NFL Draft) and I think the only hiccup for Max (Unger) was he had been nicked up. He had some injuries and from a makeup and football IQ standpoint I think we felt strong that those were going to be real positive attributes that he brought here."

What have you guys seen from Russell Wilson and does his game change a whole lot since he got banged up a little bit?

"Generally, when that player (Russell Wilson) is playing real well, he's got a lot of other guys around him playing well. They have had some injuries on the offensive line and the thing about him is his ability still in the pocket and even when he moves or flushes to find throws, obviously he has been hampered a little bit with the injury and yet I think typically when you get going offensively and you're playing well there's a lot of guys doing good things around you and I think that they played some good  defenses now and you look at their division and you look at the Arizona's, the LA Rams team. Those guys are all pretty good at making it hard on you offensively and I know that it's probably a combination of those two or three things that we're discussing."

How encouraged are you with Delvin Breaux's progress?

"He's continuing to work and it's good to see all these guys back out there receiving some work."

How is Terron (Armstead) doing?

"Doing well, he's day to day here and we'll see how he handles today and we'll keep you guys posted. You guys know this I'm not going to go into discussion with injuries about any of these guys."
