With the start of the 2013 season for the New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans, team management has created a fully comprehensive digital media department that will cover both the football and basketball teams daily with a host of talented and professional writers and broadcasters.

"With so much content under one roof, we decided that this is just another opportunity to speak to our fans directly," said Greg Bensel, senior vice president of communications & broadcasting. "Our digital media department is managed by a seasoned media professional in Doug Tatum, formerly the sports editor of The Times-Picayune and through both of our teams' websites and social media platforms we plan to bring daily reporting through a host of radio webcasts, online live-streaming video shows, photo galleries and, of course, updated articles and columns."

John DeShazier, a longtime New Orleans columnist who spent the past year as the radio analyst for the Pelicans, has been named senior writer for NewOrleansSaints.com. In addition to writing about the Saints, DeShazier will be featured on the website's new video shows – New Orleans Saints Morning Report and Afternoon Wrap, which debut Friday. The Morning Report will give fans an exclusive first glimpse inside the facility with a member of the organization. DeShazier, who began working in New Orleans in 1992 when he was hired by The Times-Picayune, also will be a regular contributor and occasional host of the Black and Blue Report, a new weekday online radio show, that airs each day at 1 pm CT, which you can find on NewOrleansSaints.com and Pelicans.com.

The Black and Blue Report is hosted by Sean Kelley, the radio voice of the Pelicans since 2005. Kelley, who began his broadcasting career in 1998, will be a regular contributor to NewOrleansSaints.com as the host of the Afternoon Wrap during training camp. Kelley also will host the website's pre-game and postgame shows from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome as well contributing to video features.

Tatum, executive director of digital media for the Saints and Pelicans, will direct all of the coverage associated with both teams.  Alex Restrepo will serve as the site's managing producer while interns Sam McLain and Jimmie Walker round out the coverage team on NewOrleansSaints.com.
