NFL CAREER – A speedy and talented wideout/return specialist with a 6-0, 180-pound frame, Rashid Shaheed burst onto the scene in 2022. Signed by the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Weber State, Shaheed was activated from the practice squad in mid-October and made an instant impact, scoring touchdowns on his first two offensive touches. The San Diego, Calif. native appeared in 12 games with six starts, catching 28 passes for 488 yards (17.4 avg.) and two scores, carried four times for 57 yards and a score, returned 20 punts for 193 yards (9.7 avg.) and 14 kicks for 320 yards (22.9 avg.). In 2023, Shaheed looks to continue to further develop into an offensive weapon and deep threat for the Saints after his early success as a rookie

Cincinnati, Oct. 16, played in his first career game after being signed from the practice squad. Recorded a 44-yard touchdown run on his first career touch. Shaheed was the first Saint to score on their career first touch since WR Brandon Coleman scored a 12-yard touchdown against the Arizona Cardinals on Sept. 13, 2015. It was also tied for the longest rush for a first career rush in club history with WR Torrance Small, who had a 44-yard rushing touchdown in his first career carry vs. Philadelphia on Oct. 1, 1995…At Arizona, Oct. 20, saw action on offense and special teams. Had a 53-yard receiving touchdown, returned two punts for 28 yards and one kickoff for 23 yards. Became the first Saint ever to score a touchdown on each of his first two offensive touches…Vs. Las Vegas, Oct. 30, started and handled return duties. Finished with a career-high three receptions for 38 yards and returned two punts for 15 yards…Vs. Baltimore, Nov. 7, returned one punt for eight yards and two kickoffs for 33 yards…At Pittsburgh, Nov. 13, caught a pass for a 12-yard gain and returned four kickoffs for 93 yards…Vs. L.A. Rams, Nov. 20, caught an eight-yard pass and had four punt returns for 40 yards…At San Francisco, Nov. 27, rushed once for six yards, caught two passes for 53 yards (26.5 avg.), including a game-long 35-yard gain and returned two punts for 18 yards and two kickoffs for 47 yards…At Tampa Bay, Dec. 5, started and handled return duties and carried once for no gain, had four receptions for 75 yards, returned two punts for a career-high 59 yards, including a career-long 42-yard return and brought back a kickoff 30 yards for a career-high 164 all-purpose yards…Vs. Atlanta, Dec. 18, started and handled return duties. Finished with three receptions for season-high 95 yards to lead the receivers and had a 68-yard touchdown reception in win. Shaheed's 68-yard touchdown catch from Taysom Hill in the first quarter was the longest touchdown play of the season for the Saints and fifth-longest reception by a Saints rookie all-time…At Cleveland, Dec. 24, started and handled return duties. Finished with four receptions for 41 yards and returned two kickoffs for 47 yards and one punt for 0 yards…At Philadelphia, 1/1/23, started and handled return duties. Recorded a club-best six receptions for team-high 79 yards, including a team-long 58-yard reception, returned three punts for 18 yards and brought back one kickoff 27 yards…Vs. Carolina, 1/8/23, started and handled return duties. Recorded three receptions for 34 yards and had a seven-yard carry.

COLLEGE: Five-year letterman for Weber State finished college career as one of the FCS's most prolific kickoff returners…Appeared in 52 career games and finished with 88 kickoff returns for 2,560 yards (29.1 avg.) with seven TDs and had 40 career punt returns for 575 yards (10.8 avg.). Logged 146 receptions for 2,164 yards (14.8 avg.) with 18 touchdowns and a long of 73 yards. Also had 30 rushes for 179 yards (6.0 avg.) with two scores. Finished as Weber State leader in kickoff return average. Accumulated 5,478 all-purpose yards, third in school history, and third in career punt return yardage. Finished seventh in career receiving yards with 2,164 yards and 18 TDs. 146 receptions ranks tenth in school history. The only player in Weber State history to earn All-American honors in four seasons…As a fifth-year senior in 2021, earned multiple first-team All-American honors as a kick returner and punt returner. Finished the season with two kickoffs returned for touchdowns. Had a 100-yard kickoff return for touchdown in the opener at Utah and had a 98-yard return in a win at Idaho State to break the FCS all-time record for return TDs, which was tied in 2022 by current Saints teammate Malik Flowers. Led the Big Sky conference in all-purpose yards. Had 39 receptions for 695 yards (17.8 avg.) with four TDs…During the COVID-shortened season in the Spring of 2021, earned FCS All-America and was named first-team All-Big Sky. Recorded ten kickoff returns in six games for 288 yards (28.8 avg.) with a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in a win over Northern Arizona. Also led the Wildcats in receiving with 21 catches for 251 yards and three TDs…Played the first eight games of junior season (2019) before tearing ACL…Finished season with 20 receptions for 231 yards with three TDs, including a career-long 73 yard TD catch against Northern Iowa. Had 12 kickoff returns for 238 yards (19.8 avg.) and nine punt returns for 151 yards (16.8 avg.), as his special teams contributions helped lead Weber State to their third-straight Big Sky title…Played in all 13 games as sophomore in 2018 and led the Wildcats to a Big Sky title and trip to FCS Playoff Quarterfinals. Finished season second in the country in kickoff return average (34.3 avg.) on 19 returns for 651 yards with two TDs. Had 100-yard return for a touchdown in a win over Northern Colorado and had a 79-yard return for a TD in win at Idaho State. Caught team-high 41 passes for 442 yards and five TDs. Earned first-team All-Big Sky and Hero Sports All-American (KR). Had season-high six catches for 62 yards and a TD in a playoff win over Southeast Missouri State…Played in all 14 games as true freshman. Helped lead the Wildcats to a school-record 11 wins and a Big Sky title. First-team All-America and first-team All-Big Sky. Named the top Collegiate Return Specialist by FCS Athletic Directors Association. The only freshman named to the FCS ADA All-America team and the first Wildcat to ever be recognized by team. Fourth in nation in kickoff returns with an average of 29.7 yards per return. Had 25 returns for 743 yards (29.7 avg.) and two TDs. Saw time at receiver and defensive back, recording one interception and finishing with 25 receptions for 545 yards and three TDs. Had 149 receiving yards with a touchdown at California. PERSONAL: Played at Mt. Carmel (San Diego, Calif.) HS, where he was a two-time San Diego Section CIF selection and second-team All-State...Had 3,748 total yards with 24 touchdowns on offense and two interceptions with one touchdown on defense...Set school records for receiving yards in a game and for the longest kickoff return...Also ran track & field in high school and was a two-time section champion, clocking a 38.54 in the 400…The sport runs deep in his family's bloodlines…Father Haneef, ran track at Arizona State and mother, Cassondra, ran track at San Diego State…Younger sister, Sysha, runs track at the University of California and his youngest sister is an aspiring track start in high school…In April, joined fellow second-year teammates CB Alontae Taylor and WR Chris Olave to work with children at Martin Behrman Charter School to help open a new fit zone with a football experience, while promoting a healthy lifestyle in speaking to the youth…In May, played in the Saints Hall of Fame Golf Tournament at Chateau Country Club
