Deep Dive: Los Angeles Rams roster review
1. Davante Adams joins Rams
Joining the room with Puka Nacua, the Rams added an experienced playmaker in wide receiver Davante Adams. The six-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro joins Los Angeles after a 1,063-yard season in 14 games with the Las Vegas Raiders and New York Jets, good for his fifth straight 1,000+ yard season. Adams said the move to the Rams has him feeling "rejuvenated."
"This game is supposed to be a kid's game and us just have a good time, a fun time out there together. To kind of feel like Pop Warner, high school, college ball all over again, that's exactly what this team feels like in the best way possible," Adams said.
The 11-year veteran is fourth among active players with 11,844 career receiving yards.
2. Jared Verse looking to capitalize in year two
Jared Verse may have won the Defensive Rookie of the Year, but the outside linebacker was not satisfied with his production in the 2024 campaign after finishing with 66 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
"The biggest thing I realized was how many sacks, and not even just sacks but big plays, I missed out on," Verse said. "Dropping in coverage, I could have done this or rushing the pass, I could have done that. Even in the run game a couple of times, there were things where I'm a little too far inside, I'm a little too far outside and I could have made a big impact play. So realizing that this really is a game of inches, whether it's just stopping the ball or actually just doing your job, there's a couple of things I could've done better."
Verse proved to be one of the most disruptive players in the NFL in his rookie season with a 18% edge pass rush win rate (14th in the NFL) and 32% edge run stop win rate, good for sixth best in the league according to ESPN.
3. Tight end production
With their first selection in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Rams added Oregon tight end Terrance Ferguson with the 46th overall selection with the goal of turning around a position group that had the least receiving yards in the NFL (459) during the 2024 season..
Ferguson put his name in the record books in Oregon, tying the single-season mark for receptions by a tight end with 43. His 591 yards were the second most in school history at the position. He hauled in three touchdown grabs.
