NFL CAREER – Selected by the Saints in the first round (11th overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft, Lattimore captured a starting position in training camp and started all 13 games he appeared in. He totaled 53 tackles (44 solo), one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, five interceptions for 85 yards and 18 passes defensed, as he became the youngest Saint (21 years old) ever selected to the Pro Bowl and was selected as the Associated Press NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year. In 2018, he looks to build on an impressive rookie campaign in his sophomore season in New Orleans.

A consensus NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, combined with fellow Saint, RB Alvin Kamara who captured the Associated Press Offensive Rookie of the Year to become the first duo from the same team to sweep the rookie awards in same season since Detroit’s Lem Barney and Mel Farr in 1967. Also opened both postseason contests and recorded six solo tackles and a club-best four passes defensed…Made his first career NFL regular season start at Minnesota, Sept. 11, finishing with four tackles…Vs. New England, Sept. 17, started and recorded career-high seven tackles (career-high six solo) and two passes defensed. Left game in second half when he was evaluated for a concussion…Inactive at Carolina, Sept. 24 due to a concussion…At Miami in London, Oct. 1, started and tied for team lead with five solo tackles and added a forced fumble as New Orleans pitched their first shutout since the 2012 season…Vs. Detroit, Oct. 15, started and had five tackles (one solo), a 27-yard interception return for a touchdown, two passes defensed and a forced fumble. Lattimore’s touchdown return was one of a club-record three Saints defensive scores in the contest…At Green Bay, Oct. 22, started and finished with three solo tackles and one pass defensed, as the Saints surrendered only 79 net passing yards…Vs. Chicago, Oct. 29, started and finished with three tackles, a fourth quarter 25-yard interception return to seal the victory and two passes defensed…October NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month, culminating four games where he recorded 16 tackles (12 solo), two interceptions, including one returned for a 27-yard touchdown, five passes defensed, a forced fumble and one fumble recovery…Vs. Tampa Bay, Nov. 15, started and finished with four solo tackles and one pass defensed…At Buffalo, Nov. 12, started and finished with a team-high five solo tackles…Vs. Washington, Nov. 19, started and posted one pass defensed before exiting the game early (ankle) which would sideline him for the next two contests, returning briefly at the start of the second half….At Atlanta, Dec. 7, returned to the lineup and posted three tackles (two solo), a career-long 33-yard interception return and one pass defensed…Vs. New York Jets, Dec. 17, finished with five tackles (three solo), a fourth quarter interception and three passes defensed…Vs. Atlanta, Dec. 24, finished with six tackles (five solo) with a highlight reel interception initially caught on his backside, which he then grabbed, near the end of the first half that set up a Saints TD and a career-high four passes defensed…At Tampa Bay, Dec. 31, posted three solo tackles and one pass defensed. Named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month, for a month where he recorded 17 tackles (13 solo), had one interception in three consecutive contests and nine passes defensed despite missing one game with an ankle injury, becoming the first defensive back in the awards history since it was introduced in 1996 to receive the honor twice…Lattimore and Kamara were also the first teammates to combine to win three NFL Offensive/Defensive Rookie of the Month awards since 1998 (Jaguars: Fred Taylor, Donovin Darius).

 

COLLEGE – A first-team All-Big Ten selection and the top-rated cornerback in the NFL Draft, while playing in only 20 games at Ohio State…Lattimore made quite an impression in the Buckeyes secondary in his only campaign as a full-time starter in 2016, opening all 13 games and posting 41 tackles (30 solo), one stop for loss, four interceptions and 13 passes defensed. Helped the Buckeyes rank sixth in the nation in total defense (296.8 ypg.) and third in team passing efficiency defense (94.36) and scoring defense (15.5 ppg.)…In 2015, he played in Ohio State’s first seven games before being sidelined for the remainder of season leg injury and recorded five tackles (four solo) and three passes defensed…Redshirted as a freshman (2014)…Majored in sport industry.

PERSONAL –  One of the Top 50 prospects in the country as a senior at Glenville (Cleveland, Ohio) HS…Ranked No. 44 nationally by 247Sports and No. 45 by ESPN with Scout ranking him No. 51 and he was a Top ten cornerback…Starred in the defensive backfield and as a wide receiver for head coach Ted Ginn Jr., the father of Saints wideout Ted Ginn Jr. and in his senior year, the Tarblooders went 13-2 and advanced to the Division II state championship  game…Had 40 receptions for 911 yards and 16 TDs as a senior and had three special teams touchdowns and was named Division II’s Ohio defensive player of the year…Also named first-team Associated Press All-State…A high school teammate of Saints defensive back Justin Hardee...Born May 20, 1996.
