NFL CAREER – Wood was signed as a free agent by the Saints prior to the 2017 season opener after spending parts of 2016 and 2017 competing for snapping duties with the Dallas Cowboys. Wood snapped for all punts and placekicks in all 17 contests in 2022 and has provided consistency since his arrival.

2022 – Snapped for punts and placements in all 17 games and recorded a career-high four special teams tackles. 2021 – Snapped for punts and placements in all 17 games. 2020 – Snapped for punts and placements in all 16 regular season games and two playoff contests. 2019 – Handled long snapping for all 16 regular season games and NFC Wild Card Playoff vs. Minnesota, 1/5/20. 2018 – Handled long snapping duties for all 16 regular season games and both postseason contests. 2017 – After spending the offseason and preseason with Dallas Cowboys, signed by New Orleans, Sept. 9 and handled snapping duties for all 16 regular season games and both playoff contests. 2016 – Went to training camp with Dallas.
COLLEGE – Started 33-of-43 games he played over four seasons at Southern Methodist, tallying 137 tackles, 22 tackles for loss, nine sacks, two forced fumbles and three blocked kicks at defensive end…Played in ten games, starting nine and recorded 39 tackles with ten tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, two pass deflections and three blocked kicks in 2015...Appeared in all 12 contests in 2014 and led team with four sacks to go along with 40 tackles….Played and started all 12 games at defensive end in 2013 and tied for fifth on team with 49 tackles and six tackles for loss, adding a sack and two forced fumbles…Appeared in nine games in 2012, making nine tackles and registering a half sack...Graduated with a bachelor's degree in applied physiology.
PERSONAL – 2010 Class 4A All-State honorable mention selection at Rowlett (Texas) HS, totaling 115 tackles and 10 sacks as senior…Participated in 2018 Saints Hall of Fame Golf Tournament in Biloxi, Miss and the 2019 tournament in New Orleans.
