NFL CAREER – A seventh round pick in the 2016 NFL draft, Daniel Lasco appeared in seven games during his rookie campaign making an impact on special teams. He finished third on the team with seven special teams stops. On offense, Lasco rushed 11 times for 32 yards and caught two passes for 11 yards, while battling a hamstring injury that held him out of nine contests. After appearing in only three games in 2017 due to a spine injury suffered at midseason, the third-year back looks to compete for carries in the backfield and contribute on special teams.

CAREER TRANSACTIONS – Placed on Injured Reserve, 11/14/17; Signed to active roster, 10/17/17; Signed to practice squad, 9/12/17; Waived, 9/8/17; Signed to a four-year contract, 5/9/16; Selected by the Saints in the seventh round (237th overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft.  

 

2017- After starting the season on the practice squad, was signed to the active roster, Oct. 17 and after playing in three games was sidelined for remainder of season after suffering a spinal injury when making a special teams tackle at Buffalo, Nov. 12. 2016- Played in seven games as a rookie finishing with 11 rushes for 32 yards, two receptions for 11 yards and seven special teams stops, third on the team…Made his NFL Debut vs. Oakland, Sept. 11, making two special teams tackles…At San Diego, Oct. 2, played on offense for the first time in his career and played on special teams and carried four times for 12 yards and recorded one seven-yard catch. Carried two times for five yards, recorded one four-yard catch and recorded a career-high three special teams tackles vs. Carolina, Oct. 16…Inactive (hamstring) at Kansas City, Oct. 23…Vs. Seattle, Oct. 30, played on offense and on special teams. Carried five times for 15 yards and recorded a coverage stop…Missed next five games (hamstring)…At Tampa Bay, Dec. 11, saw action on special teams and recorded one tackle…Inactive for the final three games of the season.

 

COLLEGE- Finished his college career with 2,395 all-purpose yards over 41 games and 15 starts, including 1,872 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns on the ground to rank tenth on Cal’s all-time list…Added 26 tackles and three forced fumbles, primarily on special teams…Set single-game career highs for rushes (30), rushing yards (188), rushing touchdowns (3) and all-purpose yards (208), adding a career-best 20 points in a win as junior at Oregon State…Turned a Jared Goff screen pass into school-record 92-yard gain…Texan excelled at 2016 NFL Scouting Combine where he posted a broad jump of 11’3”, the longest ever by a running back at the event, to pair with a 41.5 vertical jump that was tied for third all-time at the event by his position group…Sociology major.

 

PERSONAL – Prepstar All-American in 2010 at the Woodlands (Texas) HS…A two-time Region 14-5A District MVP as a junior and senior…Led team to District titles in each of his final three seasons from 2008-10…Finished with all-time school records of 3,821 rushing yards and 43 touchdowns on 444 carries (8.6 avg.)…Posted five career 200-yard rushing games, rushed for 150 or more yards ten times and 100 or more in 12 games…Led squad to a 10-1 overall record to capture the Region 14-5A District title as senior…Rushed for 868 yards and 12 touchdowns on 103 carries in only seven games due to an injury suffered in opener, adding 202 yards receiving and a score on 13 catches…Threw five-yard TD on only attempt as senior...Posted biggest statistical totals junior year when he rushed for 1,520 yards and 17 TDs on 216 carries, while adding 10 catches for 247 yards and two TDs…Rushed for 1,120 yards on 139 carries (8.1 avg.) as sophomore…School’s first freshman to ever play varsity football in 2007 when he was called up in Week Ten…Contributed 341 yards rushing and four TDs in two playoff games as freshman, including a 257-yard rushing game with three TDs vs. Westfield…Daniel Lee Lasco II was born Oct. 9, 1992…Uncle, Sammy O’Brient, was an NG and four-year letterwinner for Texas A&M from 1984-87, playing on three straight SWC championship teams.
