Vitt was born on March 3, 1980, in Towson, Maryland. He attended Towson University, where he majored in sports management. He is the son of longtime NFL coach Joe Vitt, who served as assistant head coach/linebackers with the Saints from 2006-16 and is currently a senior defensive assistant with the Denver Broncos.
