Kyle Valero enters his second season as the Saints assistant wide receivers coach. He arrived in New Orleans after working under Saints Head Coach Kellen Moore with the Philadelphia Eagles as an offensive assistant.
During the 2025 season, Valero worked alongside Saints wide receivers coach Keith Williams in developing a young group of receivers. Valero helped tutor fourth-year wideout Chris Olave to his first career Associated Press All-Pro selection, after leading the Black and Gold with 100 catches for 1,163 yards and nine touchdowns, setting career-highs in all three categories. Olave was only the third Saints wideout to be voted as an AP All-Pro. After being moved into the starting lineup, Devaughn Vele had 19 receptions for 239 yards in his last four games.
With the Super Bowl LIX Champion Eagles, Valero contributed to an offense ranked eighth in the NFL in net yards per game (367.2) and seventh in points per game (27.2). The Eagles passing attack flourished under a club-record 103.4 passer rating, with A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith forming one of the league's most dynamic receiver duos.
From 2020-22, Valero served as the Dallas Cowboys' quality control/analytics coach while working directly with the team's wide receivers. In 2022, Valero helped Dallas rank fourth in the NFL in scoring (27.5 ppg.) while mentoring CeeDee Lamb to top-six finishes among wide receivers with career highs at the time in receptions (107), receiving yards (1,359), and touchdowns (9). During the 2021 campaign, Valero assisted in the offensive game-planning that helped produce the No. 1-ranked total offense (407.0 ypg.) and scoring offense (31.2 ppg.) in the league. Lamb also recorded his first 1,000-yard season en route to Pro Bowl honors. In 2020, the Cowboys wide receiver corps finished third in the NFC in receiving yards (4,511) and first in receptions (413) despite undergoing four quarterback changes. Lamb set a Cowboys record for receptions by a rookie (74) while notching 934 yards, which stood as the second-most in team rookie history. Amari Cooper finished with a career-high 92 catches for 1,114 yards and five touchdowns.
Valero spent the 2019 season working as Dallas' assistant tight ends coach after assisting the wideouts during his first five years (2014-18) with the team. With the midseason acquisition of Cooper in 2018, Dallas excelled during the second half of the year by ranking third across the NFL in receptions (228) as well as fifth in receiving yards (2,468). In 2017, Valero supported a unit that featured Dez Bryant, who led the club in catches (69), receiving yards (838) and receiving touchdowns (six). In 2016, Dallas' receivers were led by Bryant, who earned his third Pro Bowl selection. In 2015, Terrence Williams stepped up in Bryant's absence due to an injury and paced the team with a career-high 840 yards on 52 catches (16.2 avg.). Valero worked with a young group of receivers in 2014, which included Bryant, who caught 88 passes for 1,320 yards (eighth in the NFL) and a league-leading 16 touchdowns to garner Pro Bowl recognition.
Prior to joining the Cowboys, Valero spent four years on the Detroit Lions offensive staff, holding the titles of assistant wide receivers coach (2013) and offensive quality control coach (2010-12). During his time with Detroit, Valero worked with Pro Football Hall of Fame wideout Calvin Johnson. From 2010-13, Johnson was voted to his first four Pro Bowls and received three consecutive first-team AP All-Pro selections (2011-13). In 2012, Johnson established the NFL single-season record with 1,964 receiving yards.
Before starting his NFL coaching career in Detroit, Valero spent two seasons as a student assistant at Florida State (2008-09), where he earned a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies.
Kyle and his wife, Ali, reside in New Orleans with their daughter, Ava (11).
