As I drive home from school, tears fill my eyes while I hear "Stand Up and Get Crunk" on the radio. The anticipation of Sunday is so overwhelming and exciting. I can't help but reminisce on the experience I've had thus far.
Last year, I was fortunate enough to attend a Saints game with friends. After seeing the Saintsations perform, I decided it was time to chase my dream and audition for the team.
Auditions were stressful and intimidating but they were also one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
Yes, making the team was a big part of that, but not as much as joining this sisterhood I am now a part of. My Saintsation journey got off to a great start with our kick off retreat and calendar shoot.
Wow, what an experience! We really bonded as a team and learned so much about each other. We then got to support each other as we took pictures for our swimsuit calendar, which was unlike anything I've ever done before.
I learned so much from my new sisters that week and the veterans were supporting us every step of the way. As soon as we got home our weekly practices really took off. We learned and perfected dances all summer in preparation of our year ahead.
Our first preseason game was upon us and I knew my life was about to change even more. The vivid memory of walking onto the field as a Saintsation will stay with me for the rest of my life. I expected our fans to be supportive, but the energy in the dome was so beyond anything I ever imagined.
If there's one thing I've learned so far, it's that nothing can change the way we feel about our team. We truly have the best and most dedicated fan base in the NFL, and I am so blessed to be able to be part of that. I look forward to every experience to come this season! Look for me on the Sidelines!
