Metairie, La. – The New Orleans Saints and the Operation Homefront-Louisiana announced today that the first 98 produced license plates (ranging from number 2-99) will be available beginning Monday, December 6 through a special auction at www.nflauction.nfl.com that will benefit Operation Homefront Louisiana and the injured Service Members and Wounded Warriors from Louisiana.

Louisiana residents will be able to bid on the limited number of license plates in accordance with the officially licensed rules listed on the NFL Auction website. The auction will allow those fans the opportunity to proudly display the number of their choice or the number of their favorite Saints player.

On Tuesday, November 3, 2010 the New Orleans Saints and the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles announced the commencement of sales of a prestige Louisiana license plate commemorating the Saints' 31-17 victory over the Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl XLIV. The specially created New Orleans Saints "World Champions" license plates are now available at selected Offices of Motor Vehicles.

The license plate features a white background with the Saints' "Old Gold" bordering the top third of the plate with the Saints' trademarked logo, the Fleur-de-Lis, in the upper left-hand corner. Below the license plate serial numbers are the black and boldfaced words "World Champions" with the Super Bowl XLIV official logo interspaced in-between the words.

"New Orleans Saints fans in Louisiana have inquired about a special license plate for many, many years," said Saints Owner Tom Benson. "We are proud and honored to offer Louisiana residents this wonderful opportunity to display their support for our team and the great state of Louisiana, and at the same time, celebrate the first Super Bowl in the team's history. The auction of the limited number of unique license plates for Operation Homefront-Louisiana is a wonderful opportunity for fans of the Saints to show their support for the men and women of our state that have sacrificed for the freedoms that we all hold so dear."

"Operation Homefront Louisiana is very excited about this opportunity to partner with the Saints to raise the much needed funds to provide emergency financial assistance to our troops, their families and our wounded warriors," said Tawney Tallo of Operation Homefront-Louisana.
