Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2026 Finalists

Saints legends Drew Brees and Jahri Evans

Drew Brees spent 15 seasons of his 20-year NFL career with the Saints and currently ranks second all-time in league history in passing yards (80,358) and passing touchdowns (571), first in completions (7,142), fourth in wins (172) and third in completion percentage (67.7). He leads New Orleans in every statistical passing category and is in his first year of eligibility for the Hall of Fame, after retiring in 2020.

Brees joined the Saints as an unrestricted free agent in 2006, after playing his first five seasons with the San Diego Chargers. He led New Orleans to victory in Super Bowl XLIV during the 2009 season and from 2006-20, Brees was named All-Pro five times, was a Pro Bowler 13 times, twice was named NFL Offensive Player of the Year, and set NFL records with five 5,000-yard passing seasons, 54 consecutive games with a touchdown pass, most touchdown passes in a game (seven) and the highest single-season completion percentage (74.4).

This will be Jahri Evans' third consecutive season as a finalist after he was selected as a finalist for the class of 2024 and 2025.

The right guard is the latest addition to the Saints Ring of Honor. The former fourth-round pick (No. 108 overall) by the Saints in 2006 touts an accomplished resumé that includes six Pro Bowl selections, five All-Pro selections (four First-Team All-Pro), being named to the Saints 50th Anniversary Team and the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team. He also helped the 2009 Saints to a victory in Super Bowl XLIV. Evans started all 183 regular-season games he played, 169 with the Saints and has since gone on to coach for the Saints working as the assistant offensive line coach.

AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Finalist

Quarterback Tyler Shough

One of five finalists for the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Award, Tyler Shough was the team's second round selection (40th overall) in the 2025 NFL Draft out of Louisville. In 11 games with nine starts, he completed 221-of-327 passes (67.6 pct.) for 2,384 yards with ten touchdowns, only six interceptions and a 91.3 passer rating, with his 103.3 third down passer rating leading the entire NFL. Shough's 67.6 completion percentage was the third-highest among qualifying rookies all-time. Shough was selected earlier as the Pro Football Writers Association's All-Rookie selection at quarterback.

Three Saints running backs in the past have received the AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year: George Rogers (1981), Rueben Mayes (1986) and Alvin Kamara (2017).

Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year presented by Nationwide Finalist

Linebacker Demario Davis

For the third time in his career, Demario Davis has been selected as the team's club winner for the 2025 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award presented by Nationwide. The Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award is the league's most prestigious honor, recognizing players who excel on-the-field and demonstrate a steadfast commitment to creating a positive impact beyond the game.

Davis has been a perfect fit on the field for the Saints, as well as in the Gulf South community, since signing with the club as an unrestricted free agent in 2018. In 2025, Davis again anchored the middle of a Black and Gold defense that surged to ranking ninth in the NFL in opponent net yards per game, leading the team with 143 tackles, a split-sack, three pass breakups, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. Overall, in his 14th NFL season, Davis has posted 1,614 career tackles (992 solo), 45 sacks, four picks, 65 pass breakups, six forced fumbles and nine fumble recoveries, receiving two Pro Bowl selections and five Associated Press All-Pro honors, as one of only three active players with 1,600 stops.

Off-the-field, Davis has been heavily involved in community service, youth engagement, faith-based and social justice initiatives, both in the New Orleans area and his home state of Mississippi. Davis and his wife, Tamela, started the Devoted Dreamers Foundation in 2013 to equip the next generation of leaders with the tools to be successful spiritually, mentally and physically.
