Draft history: A look back at the 88th pick

See which NFL players were drafted at the 88th pick from 2010-2019

As we approach the 2020 NFL Draft on April 23-25, the New Orleans Saints will have picks in Round 1 (24th overall), Round 3 (88th overall), Round 4 (130th overall), Round 5 (169th overall) and Round 6 (203rd overall). NewOrleansSaints.com takes a look at the history of those overall pick positions and the players it brought into the league.

PICK 88 IN 2015:
Over the last 10 NFL Drafts, the 88th selection has seen eight defensive players to just two offensive. Four of the picks were defensive line selections, with three of them being defensive ends.

One notable defensive end selection was LSU product Danielle Hunter, regarded as one of the best pass rushers in the NFL. In his first five seasons, Hunter has appeared in 79 regular season games with 49 starts posting 54.5 sacks, six forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries, adding 3.5 takedowns and one forced fumble in the postseason. Hunter is an All-Pro, two-time Pro Bowler and was named to the 2015 PFWA All-Rookie Team.

SUPER BOWL MVP ENTERS NFL:
Originally drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles, quarterback Nick Foles has proven himself throughout his eight seasons in the NFL. Foles has appeared in 58 games, with 48 starts with four NFL teams. Playing the majority of his career with the Eagles, Foles came in the clutch after Carson Wentz suffered a season-ending injury during the 2017 campaign. Foles took over as the starting quarterback for the Eagles to start week 15. He led the Eagles throughout the playoffs, throwing for 971 yards and six touchdowns with only one interception. The Eagles would go on to win Super Bowl LII, and Foles was named the Super Bowl MVP.

Foles has signed with Chicago Bears for the 2020 season.

RETURN SPECIALIST RUNS INTO THE NFL:
Wide receiver Andre Roberts has appeared in 148 games, with six NFL teams since 2010. Roberts has posted 257 receptions for 3,010 yards and 15 touchdowns. Known for his returning ability, Roberts led the NFL in kick return yards with 1,174 during the 2018 season. Roberts has a total of 166 punt returns for 1,477 yards (8.9 avg.) with three touchdowns. He has 189 kickoff returns for 4,745 yards (25.1 avg.) with two touchdowns.

Roberts is an All-Pro and two-time Pro Bowler. He will enter the 2020 campaign with the Buffalo Bills.
