2026 NEW ORLEANS SAINTS CHEER KREWE AUDITION PROCESS

The new and improved preliminary round of auditions for our 2026-27 team will be conducted virtually beginning on Tuesday, March 10. Candidates must submit ALL virtual audition materials in the checklist below to be considered for team selection.

Upon completion of the audition application, registration, and waiver, applicants will receive an email with audition materials and detailed instructions for your virtual preliminary round submission .

The sooner you register, the more time you will have with the audition choreography/materials. Set yourself up for success by allowing enough time to prepare a standout, polished submission before preliminary auditions close.

All audition materials and video submissions are due by Thursday, April 2 at 5:00 PM CST.

FINALIST TRAINING CAMP:

Applicants will receive an email notifying if they have been selected as a finalist on Friday, April 10. Candidates selected as finalists must be available for ALL DAYS of our Finalist Training Camp leading up to the in-person Final Audition taking place the following dates and times:

REQUIREMENTS:

Online registration for auditions will close at 5:00 p.m. CT on Thursday, April 2.

When you apply, you'll need:

  • Resume that includes education, professional, and performance experience
  • Minimum of 2 references (Ex: a former supervisor/coach/mentor or peer that you work/worked with regularly)
  • Head-to-toe photo of yourself in the same attire and look as your audition videos for easy identification
  • Complete all forms on the Audition Checklist

ATTIRE & APPERANCE

Take pride in your appearance and pay attention to details so that you look and feel your best and are confident in the impression you are making. This is a great medium to showcase personal style and flair! Hair should be down and styled in a way that complements your look and allows your face to be clearly seen from all distances. Facial hair must be neatly and thoughtfully groomed.

Recommended attire examples include (but are not limited to):

  • Women: athletic two-piece sets (midriff above the belly button is acceptable), leggings, or other fitted athletic wear. Brief-style bottoms are not permitted.
  • Men: joggers, running tights, yoga pants, or other athletic bottoms paired with a fitted tank top or T-shirt/polo.

Subtle accents, rhinestones, and/or embellishments are acceptable. Feel free to express your personal style, but please refrain from wearing anything distracting or that could pose a safety risk, such as large earrings, necklaces, bracelets, or similar accessories. For safety purposes, ALL piercings other than earrings must be removed.

As ambassadors for the Saints brand, team members are expected to maintain a stage-ready, polished image in and out of uniform. We're looking for individuals who are ready and excited to represent the Saints organization, contribute to the community, and make an impact with our dedicated fans—on and off the field!

AUDITION CONTENT CAPTURE:

All workouts/auditions for Finalist Training Camp will include content capture by the New Orleans Saints. Please arrive camera ready. Video submissions from the preliminary round will be subject to private, internal viewing by the Saints Cheer Krewe judging panel which is comprised of full-time and part-time Saints employees. This content will not be shared or stored for public access and viewing.

OTHER IMPORTANT AUDITION INFORMATION:

  • Prospective cast members must be at least 18 years of age by the date preliminary auditions close. NO EXCEPTIONS. If selected to advance to Finalist Training Camp, copy of a valid photo ID will be COLLECTED.
  • Prospective cast members must be a high school graduate or certified equivalent.
  • Prospective cast members must be available to attend all phases of the audition process from start to finish, completing all parts of each round.
  • Cast members who are ultimately selected for Saints Cheer Krewe must agree not to discuss or reveal their selection until directed to do so by the New Orleans Saints. Failure to comply will result in immediate dismissal from the team roster.
  • All members must successfully complete all pre-employment screenings. The Saints organization is a drug-free workplace. Drug test screenings will be conducted for all finalists. Copy of a valid photo ID will be COLLECTED as a mandatory component if selected as a Finalist.
  • All Saints performances and appearances are subject to NFL rules, as well as health & safety guidelines
  • The New Orleans Saints reserve the right to alter, change, or discontinue entertainment teams at their sole discretion.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What kind of previous experience is required?

You are not required to have any professional training or experience to audition. Performance ability, quality, and technique will be important factors in determining who is selected for the teams. Personality, poise, and public speaking skills will also be important factors.

Is there a minimum skill requirement for cheer/dance?

All candidates must execute the exact skills demonstrated in the audition materials provided in the kick-back email received upon fully completing registration.

What is the time commitment?

If selected, you are expected to make a commitment to the team through May 2027. You will be expected to attend practice at least twice a week, typically Tuesday and Thursday evenings, for a minimum of 4 hours per practice. Members must be available to work ALL Saints home games during pre-season, regular season, and playoffs, and participate in Junior Cheer programming. You will also be expected to fulfill public appearances and/or performances for the Saints organization, corporate partners, and community events throughout the year.

How are members compensated?

Saints Cheer Krewe members are hired as seasonal, part-time employees of the Saints and are paid an hourly wage for all hours that they are required to perform work duties during their employment with the Saints. Typical duties include attending practices, games, appearances, clinics, photo shoots, and other entertainment events sponsored by the Saints.

What do game days look like?

Our Saints Cheer Krewe plays a vital role in enhancing the overall fan experience and creating Dome Field Advantage for our team. Game day duties may include, but are not limited to: pre-game performances on stage in Champions Square and on the field, in-game performances, greeting and engaging with fans as they arrive at Caesars Superdome, on-field flag unfurls, sideline performances for the entirety of the game, appearing on-camera during game breaks, appearances in suites and other VIP spaces, and autograph/photograph sessions.

Is there an age requirement?

You must be at least 18 years old by the date preliminary auditions close.

How do I register for auditions?

The preliminary round of auditions for our 2026-27 team will be held virtually. Upon completion of audition registration, the Dayforce job application, and SmartWaiver, applicants will receive an email with detailed submission instructions. All candidates must submit a virtual audition with the other required materials to be considered for Finalist Training Camp and overall team selection by Thursday, April 2nd at 5:00 PM (CST).

Is there an audition fee?

Currently, there is no fee to audition.

Does my photo need to be professionally taken?

The head to toe photo is simply used to identify you at auditions, it is not necessary to have a professional photo taken.

Are there any height or weight requirements?

No. There are no height or weight requirements. All applicants must simply fulfill the minimum age requirement.

Are auditions open to the public?

No. Auditions are closed to outside guests, friends, or family.

Can I post photos or videos from the auditions on social media, websites, etc.?

You may post footage of yourself; however, you may not post images or video of other participants without their explicit consent. You also may not post any content that reveals the inner workings of the Saints audition or selection process. The New Orleans Saints reserve the right to photograph and/or film and disseminate/distribute content from the audition.

Do I need to bring a prepared routine to auditions?

You do NOT need to prepare a routine for preliminary auditions. You will be taught material as part of the audition process. Finalists who are selected to participate in the Finalist Training Camp will receive more details, to make sure you have the information you need to prepare.
