On December 30, 2000 the New Orleans Saints defeated the St. Louis Rams 31-28 in a NFC Wild Card Playoff game.

This was the Saints' first postseason victory.

During the victory, Saints quarterback Aaron Brooks threw for four touchdown passes and wide receiver Willie Jackson tied a NFL postseason record with three touchdown catches.
