Saints, Zatarain's team up to feed the troops

Zatarain's "Spice Up the Season" packages reminded military members of home cooking

The New Orleans Saints, Zatarain’s and the USO Gulf Coast teamed up Sunday, Nov. 19,to support deployed military members with a care package event at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Saints legends Michael Lewis and Tyrone Hughes, along with mascots Sir Saint and Gumbo, helped fans pack 500 military care packages.

Each package included a taste of New Orleans, consisting of Zatarain's Jambalaya Rice Mix, Seasoned Fish Fri, Dirty Rice Mix, Gumbo Base, Red Beans & Rice Mix, Honey Butter Cornbread Mix, Blackened Seasoning, Creole Seasoning, Crawfish, Shrimp & Crab Boil, Creole Mustard and a holiday card.  

Zatarain's "Spice Up the Season" packages reminded military members of home cooking and allowed Saints fans the opportunity to write personalized notes to those serving. 

The Saints, Zatarains and the USO Gulf Coast teamed up to send a little taste of NOLA to deployed military members on November 19 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
