NFL CAREER – The New Orleans Saints signed Don Barclay prior to their Week One preseason contest to give the club another versatile lineman with experience. Originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Green Bay Packers out of West Virginia in 2012, Barclay has appeared in 65 regular season games with 25 starts at both guard and tackle for Green Bay (2012-17) and Detroit (2017). The Seneca Valley, Pa. native will hope to impress with his versatility and reliability as he competes for a swing position along the Saints offensive line

Helped to protect QB Aaron Rodgers as he threw for 287 yards and three TDs with one INT on 27-of-45 passing.2015 – Played in all 16 games with five starts, opening four games at RT (Weeks 2-4, 13) and one at LT (Week 16)…Appeared in both playoff contests on special teams…Vs. Seattle (Sept. 20): Started at RT in place of injured Bulaga (knee) and played all 71 snaps, his first start since 2013 finale at Chicago. Helped protect Rodgers as he connected on 25 of 33 passes for 249 yards and two TDs with no INTs for a 116.9 passer rating. With Lacy exiting the game after just eight snaps due to an ankle injury, helped clear holes for RB James Starks as he racked up 95 yards on 20 carries (4.8 avg.)…Vs. Kansas City (Sept. 28): Started at RT, helping to protect Rodgers as the line allowed just one sack to a Kansas City defense that had registered eight sacks in the first two games. Minnesota (Dec. 2): Saw the first action of his career from scrimmage when he came on in the second quarter at RT in relief of an injured Lang. Detroit (Dec. 9): Made the first start of his career, opening the game at RT in place of the injured Lang, who dressed but did not play. Helped block for a rushing attack that generated 140 yards and two TDs on 25 carries (5.6 avg.). The 5.6-yard average was the highest in a game on the season (min. 25 attempts)…Vs. Tennessee (Dec. 23): Started at RT for what was the offense's most productive outing of the season. Helped block for a unit that produced a season-high 460 yards and 55 points, the most points recorded by the Packers since they posted the same number in a 55-14 win vs. Tampa Bay on Oct. 2, 1983.
