Saints Lend Support To Special Olympics

Olympians get to enjoy Saints Experience

The New Orleans Saints lent their support to over 800 athletes this weekend at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond at the Special Olympics Louisiana State Summer Games.  In between breaks from their competitions, athletes were able to test their skills at the Saints Experience, which is normally brought to over 150 schools, festivals and churches throughout the Gulf South Region annually.

The Saints Experience was located on the "Olympic Town" section of the campus. This is an area that special olympic athletes are allowed to visit in between competitions or during breaks. The area also included a special presentation by Global Wildlife and about 40 carnival-type game booths where participants could win prizes.

This annual gathering of special athletes from throughout the state started Friday evening with opening ceremonies, continued Saturday and concluded on Sunday.
