Guard Ben Grubbs named Landry's Community Player of the Week

By Connor Tarter

Landry's Community Player of the Week is guard Ben Grubbs.

Through his organization The Ben Grubbs Foundation, Grubbs has found a uniquely personal way to give back to his community, holding events and special charity drives throughout each year.

Grubbs community presence is primarily directed at assisting children and their families, but his generosity and caring can be seen throughout the whole city of New Orleans.

Last Thanksgiving, his foundation and the Boys & Girls Club of Southeast Louisiana teamed up to give out turkeys to families in need during the holiday season.

"The good Lord has put me in the position to be a blessing to a lot of families and through my foundation we're making it happen," Grubbs said. "This Thanksgiving, we're blessing a lot of families that may not have the chance to go out there and have a good dinner so it feels good."

Grubbs also hosts an annual charity softball game to help the community. Last year's game was also held in conjunction with the Boys & Girls Club, and Grubbs was very satisfied with the results of the event.

"We raised a lot of money to help the Boys and Girls Clubs in the New Orleans area, and this year we want to continue with that success," Grubbs said. "It's family-friendly for the fans and I appreciate everyone who comes out and supports us."

If you wish to learn more about Grubbs' community-driven mission, more information, including an events calendar and contact information can be found at his website,

On the field and in the New Orleans community, Ben Grubbs will continue to be a valuable part of the New Orleans Saints.

Congratulations to Ben Grubbs, Landry's Community Player of the Week!
