Dez Bryant anxiously awaits draft fate in Texas

Draft-Dez's Diary

DESOTO, Texas (AP) -Dez Bryant burned some nervous energy before Thursday's NFL draft with a game of one-on-one against the younger brother of Michael Crabtree, a fellow receiver taken 10th a year ago.

Going that high would be a relief for the former Oklahoma State star, who has been dogged by questions about his character since he was suspended three games into his final college season because he lied to the NCAA about a meeting with former NFL star Deion Sanders.

Bryant said it was ``not a big deal'' that he didn't get invited to the draft in New York. Instead he was surrounded by family and friends at the palatial Dallas-area home of David Wells, one of his advisers.

I feel like I've done everything I can,'' Bryant told The Associated Press about an hour before the draft.People who don't know Dez Bryant are saying all those bad things. People who know Dez Bryant know that he's a good person.''

Bryant was generally considered the top receiver in the draft after piling up 2,425 yards and 29 touchdowns in 28 games at Oklahoma State.

``I'm just enjoying every bit of this,'' he said.
