Saints Defensive End Cameron Jordan spent time at Ben Franklin Elementary Math & Science on Tuesday with its 5th-7th-grade students, teaching them about the importance of energy efficiency on a school visit presented by Chevron.

During the assembly, students helped Jordan identify ways to save energy and live a more environmentally-friendly lifestyle.

"While brushing your teeth, make sure you turn the water off – don't waste it. If you leave the room, turn the light off. It's important to protect our environment," Jordan said.

He also encouraged the students to ride their bikes and walk instead of trying to have their parents or friends drive them where they need to go.

In addition to talking about energy efficiency, Jordan also talked to students about the importance of hard work and staying focused on their studies.

"I'm a firm believer in history and reading – I really enjoyed both," Jordan said. "I ended up choosing criminology and I'm working on my degree in the off-season."
