NFL CAREER – Originally drafted by the Houston Texans in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft (135thoverall) out of Pittsburgh, Savage brings starting experience to the Saints as he is expected to compete with Taysom Hill for the slot backing up Drew Brees. The Springfield, Pa. native, stepped up for the Texans in 2017, appearing in eight games with seven starts completing 125-of-223 passes for 1,412 yards with five touchdowns. For his career, the former Pittsburgh star has played in 13 games with nine starts, completing 181-of-315 passes for 2,000 yards and five touchdowns.​
