NFL CAREER – Originally an undrafted free agent signed by Tennessee in 2009, King has appeared in seven NFL games, including the first three contests of 2011, before moving to the practice squad for the remainder of the season. The University of Iowa product will compete for a spot on New Orleans’ interior line rotation in 2012.

COLLEGE – Four-year letterman totaled 228 career tackles, 17.5 sacks, 12 passes defensed, six forced fumbles and one fumble recovery…Big Ten Defensive Lineman of the Year, first team All-Conference and AP second-team All-American as a senior, starting 13 games and recorded 54 tackles, and four sacks …Posted 58 tackles, 4.5 sacks, seven passes defensed and one forced fumble as a junior and gained first-team All-Big Ten plaudits….Had 56 tackles, a career-high seven sacks, two passes defensed and one fumble recovery as a sophomore…Had a career-high 60 tackles, two sacks and three forced fumbles as a freshman, earning Big Ten All-Freshman by The Sporting News.
PERSONAL – Prepped at Burlington (Iowa) HS, where he was First-Team 4A All-State, playing LB and RB…Also was a standout on the swimming and baseball teams…Mitchell Ross King was born May 8, 1986 in Burlington, Iowa.
