With imposing size, tremendous strength and the ability to take on multiple blockers, Jenkins helped man the center of the Saints defense at nose tackle as a rookie in 2013 as part of a rotation. A third round draft pick from the University of Georgia, Jenkins appeared in all 16 games with five starts and produced 29 tackles (15 solo), plugging the middle for the NFL’s fourth ranked defense both in net yards per game and opponent scoring.

2013 – Appeared in all 16 regular season games with five starts and recorded 29 tackles, including 15 solo stops. Appeared in both postseason contests and finished with seven tackles (four solo) with one sack…Saw extensive action in his NFL debut vs. Atlanta, Sept. 8, when he made four tackles (one solo) as the Falcons were held to under 100 yards rushing in a 23-17 win…Started his first NFL game the following week in the 16-14 win at Tampa Bay, Sept. 15, when he posted four stops (three solo)…Started vs. Arizona, Sept. 22, and posted a career-high six tackles (three solo)…Started vs. Carolina, Dec. 8 and recorded four tackles (two solo)…In his postseason debut, recorded four tackles (three solo) in the NFC Wild Card win at Philadelphia, 1/4/14, as the NFL’s leading rusher in the regular season, LeSean McCoy, was held to 77 yards rushing and a 3.7 yards per carry average…In the NFC Divisional playoff game at Seattle, 1/11/14, posted three tackles (one solo) and his first career sack.

COLLEGE  – Started 20-of-27 games at nose guard in two seasons for the University of  Georgia, totaling 78 tackles (36 solo), four sacks for a loss of 26 yards, eight stops for losses of 32 yards and 24 quarterback pressures. He also added one interception, a pass deflection a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries….Started all 13 games he appeared in as a senior while ending the season with 50 tackles (22 solo), a sack for a loss of nine yards, two stops for minus 11 yards, one fumble recovery, one pass deflection and 14 quarterback pressures…Anchored the middle of a defense that yielded only 17 rushing touchdowns…Named the team’s Defensive Co-MVP and to Phil Steele’s All-Southeastern Conference second-team… Received the team’s Newcomer of the Year Award after appearing in all 14 games in his first season at Georgia in 2011…Posted 28 stops (14 solo) that included three sacks for losses of 17 yards, six stops for losses of 21 yards, 10 quarterback pressures, an interception, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery…Played two seasons at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (2009-10)…Also saw some time on offense as a freshman, carrying six times for 41 yards and a touchdown…As a sophomore, was named a four-star player by multiple outlets and the sixth-best junior college player in the nation by Scout.com as he started all 10 games and recorded 41 tackles and two sacks…As a freshman registered three sacks…Majored in child and family development at Georgia.

PERSONAL – Attended Francis T. Maloney (Meriden, Conn.) HS…Played T, DE and FB in short yardage situations…Named to the All-Central Connecticut South League squad as a senior…Also competed as a forward on the basketball team where, as a junior, he helped the Spartans capture the South League title after finishing with a 27-1 record, ranked third in the state’s final poll…Participated in the Baskets of Hope program making deliveries to patients at Ochsner Medical Center in the Fall…Born July 11, 1989 in Meriden, Conn.
