Tackle, interception, pass defense and forced fumble totals led Saints cornerbacks…In postseason, made 19 tackles (15 solo), two interceptions, one returned for a touchdown, one pass defense and one forced fumble…Recorded first interception of 2009 when he picked off Eagles QB Kevin Kolb on game’s final play and added four tackles and a pass defense at Philadelphia, Sept. 20…Had eight tackles (five solo) with career-best four pass defenses before icing the victory with a 54-yard interception return for a TD at Miami, Oct. 25…Picked off a Matt Ryan pass and returned it 18 yards to help set up TD, adding eight tackles (six solo) and a pass defense vs. Atlanta, Nov. 2…Posted six tackles (five solo) with two forced fumbles, one which was recovered by the Saints vs. Carolina, Nov. 8…In first start since missing four games with a knee injury, Porter made eight tackles (seven solo) and made a leaping interception of QB Josh Freeman in end zone, vs. Tampa Bay, Dec. 27…Contributed five solo tackles and a pass defense in NFC Divisional Playoff vs. Arizona…Had seven tackles (six solo), a forced fumble and an interception in NFC Championship Game. His pick of Brett Favre came late in regulation as Vikings were driving for a potential game-winning score…In Super Bowl XLIV, stepped in front of and picked off a pass by Peyton Manning that was returned 74 yards for a TD to increase New Orleans’ lead to 31-17 with 3:12 remaining in the contest. The interception was the fourth-longest return in Super Bowl history. 2008 – Started all five games he appeared in and recorded 32 tackles (26 solo), one sack, one interception and knocked away five passes…Became the first Saints rookie to earn an opening day start at CB since 2002 and had a stellar debut vs. Tampa Bay, Sept. 7, making six tackles (three solo) and two pass defenses…Recorded nine tackles (eight solo) at Washington, Sept. 14…Led team with a career-high 10 tackles (nine solo) at Denver, Sept. 21…Had a big day vs. San Francisco, Sept. 28, making his first sack and later picking off his first pass, while totaling four tackles and a pass defense…Recorded three tackles and deflected a pair of passes before leaving game in fourth quarter with season-ending dislocated right wrist vs. Minnesota, Oct. 6.

COLLEGE – Only player in Indiana history to return a punt, interception and fumble for a touchdown…Started 43 career games, 29 at RCB, 13 at LCB and one at SS and finished with 212 tackles (175 solo), 16 interceptions for a school-record 413 yards in returns and a touchdown…Also had two forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries for 147 return yards, including a 76-yard touchdown…An excellent special teams performer, blocking a kick and returning 35 punts for 477 yards (13.6 avg.) and an 86-yard touchdown…All-Big Ten first-team selection as senior in 2007 as he started every game, ranking second in league with six interceptions for 137 yards, making a career-high 83 tackles (63 solo) with a nine-yard sack and two fumble recoveries, one returned for a TD…Ranked third in Big Ten with 254 yards on 23 punt returns (11.0 avg.)…Earned All-Big Ten second-team as junior, finishing fourth in conference with four interceptions, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery…Returned 12 punts for 223 yards (18.6 avg.) and a TD, which would have led nation but was two returns below qualifying minimum…Majored in Recreational Sports Management.

HS, where he played only two seasons of football, but was first-team All-District as senior…Second-team All-District as junior despite missing seven games with right forearm fracture…Played QB, RB and WR and CB, where he had 11 interceptions with two TD returns as senior and averaged 47 yards per kickoff return and 28 yards per punt return his final season…Prep basketball and track standout.
