NFL CAREER – A rugged, young runner who will compete for carries at running back after missing 2010 with a knee injury. Hamilton appeared in nine games in 2009 and saw limited carries in the club’s running back rotation while also contributing on special teams.

CAREER TRANSACTIONS – Placed on injured reserve, 8/16/10; Signed to active roster, 12/27/08; Signed to practice squad, 8/31/08; Waived 8/30/08; Signed by Saints as an undrafted free agent; 5/5/08.

 2010 – Missed entire season with a knee injury suffered in a training camp practice. 2009 – Played in nine games with one start…Finished carrying 35 times for 125 yards with two touchdowns, recording five receptions for 48 yards and seven special teams tackles…Made first NFL start at Buffalo, Sept. 27 and ran for 24 yards on five carries, including a one-yard TD, in addition to a special teams tackle…Saw most extensive action of career at Carolina, 1/3/10, where he served as feature back, carrying ten times for 48 yards with a one-yard TD and catching three passes for 38 yards…In  NFC Divisional Playoff vs. Arizona, carried five times for 23 yards with a one-yard TD and added a special teams tackle…Led team in rushing in preseason, carrying 40 times for 177 yards (4.4 avg.). 2008 – In preseason, carried 24 times for 76 yards…Spent most of season on practice squad, before being signed to active roster, Dec. 27, and saw action on special teams following day vs. Carolina.

COLLEGE – In four years with the Aztecs, had 2,052 rushing yards on 480 carries for 14 touchdowns and caught 57 passes for 360 yards and three touchdowns…Held to just 56 carries for 146 yards in final two seasons as he battled knee injuries after running for 819 yards and nine TDs as redshirt sophomore in 2005, returning from broken ankle suffered as a freshman in 2003…First-team freshman All-American in 2003 and Mountain West Conference Freshman of the Year, gaining 1,087 yards on 234 carries in 10 contests.

PERSONAL – Majored in sociology…Prepped at Edison (Stockton, Calif.) HS…An active participant in the club’s community affairs program with frequent, youth, school and hospital visits…Born in Stockton, Calif.
