The Saints added Keyunta Dawson to the roster in week six of the 2013 season to add experience and veteran leadership to the club’s outside linebacker corps. Prior to joining the Saints, he appeared in two games for the Tennessee Titans on their defensive line and on special teams. In six games with the Saints he posted four tackles (two solo), half a sack and one forced fumble. He spent his first four seasons with the Indianapolis Colts after initially entering the NFL as a seventh-round pick in 2007. In addition to his stints with the Titans in 2012 and 2013, the Shreveport native and former Texas Tech standout also spent three weeks during the 2011 campaign with the Detroit Lions.

2013 – Appeared in two games for Tennessee Titans on defense and special teams and recorded no stats and then, after being picked up by New Orleans, appeared in six games and recorded four tackles (two solo), half a sack and one forced fumble. Missed final five regular season games and first postseason contest with calf injury. Returned to play in NFC Divisional Playoff at Seattle, 1/11/14, and posted four tackles (two solo)….Made Saints debut at New England, Oct. 13, and recorded one tackle…Split a sack with OLB Parys Haralson and forced a key fumble that was recovered by CB Corey White at Atlanta, Nov. 21. 2012 – Played in the first three games of the season as a reserve DE for Tennessee and registered five tackles before being placed on Reserve/Injured. 2011 – Spent three weeks on Detroit Lions 53-man roster and played in two games, posting one tackle. 2010 – Played in all 16 games for Indianapolis, backing up Dwight Freeney...Recorded 17 solo tackles and one fumble recovery...Against Kansas City, Dec. 10, recovered one fumble and posted two tackles...Saw action as a reserve in NFC Wild Card Playoff vs. N.Y. Jets, 1/8/11. 2009 – Played in 12 games, including two starts for Indianapolis...Recorded 14 tackles…Saw action in all three playoff contests as a reserve...Vs. Saints in Super Bowl XLIV, recorded one tackle. 2008 – Played in 14 games for Colts, starting all of them at DT...Recorded 42 tackles...Against Jacksonville, Sept. 21, set a career-high with eight tackles…Also started AFC Wild Card Playoff at San Diego, 1/3/09. 2007 – Saw action in all 16 regular season games for Indianapolis as a rookie, including four starts...At Houston, Sept. 23, posted first career sack and forced a fumble...Also opened AFC Wild Card Division Playoff vs. San Diego, 1/13/08.

COLLEGE – As a two-year starter at Texas Tech, totaled 23 starts, 164 career tackles, 25.5 tackles for losses, 19.5 sacks, three passes defensed, five forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries, including one for a touchdown...As senior in 2006, started all 13 games and logged 63 tackles, six sacks, 9.5 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries...As junior in 2005, named a second-team All-Big 12 selection by the league’s coaches...Graduated in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in human development family science
