Signed by the Saints as an unrestricted free agent from the Pittsburgh Steelers at the start of 2013 free agency, Lewis started every contest his first two seasons with the club before a hip injury limited him to six games in 2015. Before being placed on injured reserve prior to the team’s Week 12 contest at Houston, Lewis posted seven solo tackles and one pass defensed. Over the course of his seven-year NFL career, Lewis has appeared in 83 games with 49 starts and has registered 195 tackles (163 solo), seven interceptions, 57 passes defensed and one forced fumble.

Giants, Nov. 1…Tallied two solo tackles at Washington, Nov. 15. 2014 – Was the only member of the Saints secondary to start all 16 games for the second consecutive season…Recorded 37 tackles (29 solo), tied for team lead with two interceptions and added a club-best 13 passes defensed…Had four solo tackles at Cleveland, Sept. 14, as the secondary surrendered only 202 net passing yards…Had one tackle, one interception and two passes defensed at Detroit, Oct. 19…Despite not recording a pick, finished with possibly his most dominating contest of season at Carolina, Oct. 30, when he posted four tackles and three passes defensed, as the Saints surrendered only 122 net yards passing...Had two tackles, a fourth quarter interception and one pass defensed as New Orleans surrendered a season-low 97 net passing yards in season finale at Tampa Bay, Dec. 28. 2013 – Started all 16 regular season games and both postseason contests for the NFL’s fourth-ranked defense in both opponent net yards and scoring and also second against the pass. In the regular season finished with 40 tackles (33 solo), a career-high and team-leading four interception returns for 34 yards and nine passes defensed. His pick total was tied for eighth in the NFC and 11th in NFL. In the postseason, made seven tackles (six solo) and two passes defensed…In the season opener vs. Atlanta, Sept. 8, produced three tackles (two solo)...Added three tackles (one solo) at Tampa Bay, Sept. 15 in a defensive effort where the Buccaneers managed only 113 net yards passing…Totaled two solo tackles, one pass defensed and his first interception as a Saint was returned for a career-long 20 yards vs. Arizona, Sept. 22…Produced three tackles (two solo) and one pass defensed vs. Chicago, Oct. 6…Totaled a season-high six tackles, one interception and one pass defensed at New England, Oct. 13…Produced  three solo tackles and one interception vs. Buffalo, Oct. 27…Totaled four tackles (three solo) as the defense yielded 140 passing yards at N.Y. Led league with 28 passes defensed. Finished fourth on team with 78 tackles (63 solo) while also adding a forced fumble and two special teams stops…Part of a stellar defensive effort in 27-10 win vs. N.Y. Jets, Sept. 16, where the Steelers surrendered only 219 total net yards, 129 through the air, as he added two solo tackles…Forced first career fumble when he tackled and stripped DeSean Jackson in a 16-14 win vs. Philadelphia, Oct. 7, also contributing four stops (three solo) and one pass defensed…Set career-high with four passes defensed at Tennessee, Oct. 11…As part of stellar defensive effort in a 24-17 win at Cincinnati, Oct. 21, when Steelers surrendered only 185 yards, including a season-low 105 through the air, Lewis finished with four solo tackles and two passes defensed…Recorded two solo stops and three passes defensed in standout defensive performance in 27-12 win vs. Washington, Oct. 28, when Steelers surrendered only 169 passing yards…Had two tackles (one solo) and three passes defensed as part of a dominant defensive performance that allowed only 114 yards through the air in 24-20 win at N.Y. COLLEGE – Played in 50 games with 48 starts at Oregon State and totaled 117 tackles (81 solo), one sack for a three-yard loss and five stops for losses of 20 yards...Forced one fumble and deflected 30 passes...Gained 72 yards on seven interceptions (10.3 avg.) including one touchdown...Was a four-time Academic All-Pac-10 honoree...As a senior in 2008, was an All-Pac-10 first-team choice as he started all 13 games at LCB, leading team with four interception returns for 29 yards, including a touchdown…Also recorded 35 tackles (27 solo) with a stop for a three-yard loss and deflected nine passes as part of a Beavers unit ranked second in the Pac-10 in total defense (312.2 ypg.) and third in pass defense (180.9 ypg.)…As a junior in 2007, started 11 games at LCB and led the team with three interception returns for 43 yards…Also added 15 tackles (12 solo) and deflected two passes…As sophomore in 2006, started 13 games at LCB and collected 22 tackles (17 solo) including a sack and two stops for loss...Finished second on the team with eight passes defensed…As freshman in 2005, was All-American third-team selection by College Football News, taking over LCB with 11 starts and recorded 45 tackles (25 solo), two stops for a loss, a forced fumble, and a career-high and team-best 11 passes defensed…Redshirted in 2004…Received a bachelor’s degree in exercise and sport science.

Perry Walker (New Orleans) HS...Both a high school and Steelers teammate of Baltimore Ravens WR Mike Wallace...Rated as one of the top 100 cornerback prospects in the country by Rivals.com...First-team All-Metro and All-League choice as a senior...Made 75 tackles with four sacks and seven interceptions and returned five punts for 180 yards and five kickoffs for 150 yards...Posted 71 tackles with two interceptions as a junior and recorded 54 tackles as a sophomore...Graduated with academic honors, attaining a 3.27 GPA…Kicked off his Keenan Lewis foundation in 2014 by hosting a free youth football camp and school supplies giveaway that benefitted children of low-income families in the greater New Orleans area…Prior to Christmas, 2014, donated dinners to local Westbank families in need…In March, 2015, Lewis teamed up with Winn-Dixie to hold a field trip for local elementary students at the Louisiana Children’s Museum, where he read Dr. Seuss’ “Green Eggs and Ham” to them. In 2015, delivered a Wilson Golden Football to Landry-Walker High School, which merged with his alma mater, O.
