NFL CAREER – Mitchell joined the Saints late in 2010 to add depth to their linebacker corps and on special teams. He’s a sideline-to-sideline player who can provide support in pass coverage and leadership in the huddle. COLLEGE – Began college career at Georgia before transferring to South Florida following redshirt freshman season…Didn’t have to sit out season because USF was NCAA Division I-AA at the time…Appeared in 42 games (39 starts) for USF, amassing a school record 367 tackles (230 solo)…Also produced 37 tackles for loss, eight sacks, nine pass defenses, three forced fumbles, two recoveries, two interceptions and a 56-yard touchdown on a fake punt…Started 10 games at MLB as a senior, posting a school single-season record of 117 tackles (72 solo) including a team-record 19.0 stops for losses.

PERSONAL – All-state selection as a senior at Lake Howell (Fl.)
