Initially excelling on special teams after signing with New Orleans as an undrafted free agent in 2010 out of Stillman College, Galette has become a pass-rushing threat. Through five seasons, he has appeared in 64 games with 30 starts and has career totals of 159 tackles (110 solo), 31.5 sacks, five passes defensed, five forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and 11 special teams stops.  In 2014, he became the first Saint in 10 seasons to post back-to-back seasons of double-digit sacks, recording a career-best 58 tackles (44 solo), 10 sacks, one passes defensed and a career-high three forced fumble. The Haiti native’s 31.5 quarterback takedowns are the most by an undrafted Saint.

2014 – Voted a defensive team captain by his teammates. Appeared in all 16 games and started the first 13 contests…Recorded 58 tackles (44 solo), 10 sacks, one pass defensed and three forced fumbles…Also set a franchise record with two safeties. Became the first Saint to record double-digit sacks in back-to-back seasons since DE Charles Grant (2003-04). Tied for 15th in the NFL in sacks…Galette had two multiple sack games in 2014 with two takedowns of Panthers QB Cam Newton and a forced fumble at Carolina, Oct. 30 and two sacks  of Bears QB Jay Cutler at Chicago, Dec. 15 to raise career total of multi-takedown performances to six. He was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week for Week 9, following the performance at Carolina, where he also added five tackles (four solo). His first sack of the game forced Panthers’ Newton to fumble and it was recovered by Curtis Lofton to set up New Orleans’ first TD…Fourth quarter safety of QB Mike Glennon dropped Saints deficit to three points and got them ball back to set up game-tying field goal to send contest to overtime vs. Tampa Bay, Oct. 5…Recorded second safety of season, when he dropped QB Josh McCown in end zone to clinch season-ending win at Tampa Bay, Dec. 28. 2013 – Set career-highs in sacks (12), passes defensed (3) and fumble recoveries (2) as he appeared in all 16 regular season games with 15 starts at OLB. Also notched 50 tackles and a forced fumble…Sack total ranked second on the team as both he and defensive end Cameron Jordan became the first Saints duo to record double-digit sacks since 2004 (defensive ends Charles Grant and Darren Howard). Takedown total was the second-highest by an undrafted player as a Saint…Ranked fourth in the NFC and sixth in the NFL in sacks and tied for fifth in the conference and sixth in the league in defensive fumble recoveries…Posted one quarterback takedown of Matt Ryan in the season opener vs. Atlanta, Sept. 8…Recovered a fumble forced by Jordan and added four stops (three solo) at Tampa Bay, Sept, 16…Posted four tackles (two solo), one quarterback takedown of Carson Palmer and one pass defensed vs. Arizona, Sept. 22…Made four stops (two solo), one sack of QB Ryan Tannehill and one pass defensed vs. Miami, Sept. 30…Recorded career-high seven tackles (six solo), a takedown of QB Thad Lewis and made a fumble recovery vs. Buffalo, Oct. 27…Made three tackles (two solo) and one sack of QB Geno Smith at New York Jets, Nov. 3…Registered two tackles (one solo) and one quarterback takedown of Colin Kaepernick vs. San Francisco, Nov. 17…Set a career-high with three sacks of Newton, to go with six tackles, vs. Carolina, Dec. 8…Finished with two solo tackles and one sack of Newton at Carolina, Dec. 22…Had his second multiple-takedown game of season in regular season finale vs. Tampa Bay, Dec. 29, when he made four stops (three solo) and two sacks of Glennon…Started both postseason contests and recorded three tackles (one solo). 2012 – Played in 12 games with one start at left defensive end at Denver, Oct. 28, and registered 22 tackles (18 solo), five sacks for a loss of 22 yards, one forced fumble and four special teams tackles…Sack total third on club…Had two sacks, forcing a fumble on one vs. Kansas City, Sept. 23…Had six solo tackles and chipped in one sack at Tampa Bay, Oct. 21. 2011 – Appeared in all 16 regular season games and finished ranked third on the club with 4.5 sacks for a loss of 42 yards, while adding 27 tackles (15 solo), one pass defensed and three special teams stops…Appeared in two games with one start in the playoffs and recorded one assisted tackle….Recorded three tackles (two solo) and split a sack of Packers QB Aaron Rodgers with S Roman Harper for his first career takedown in the NFL season opener at Green Bay, Sept. 8…Tied for  the team lead with Harper in recording two takedowns of Cutler vs. Chicago, Sept. 18…Recorded five tackles (two solo) and finished with a late sack of QB Matthew Stafford vs. Detroit, Dec. 4. 2010 – Appeared in four regular season games and recorded two tackles (one solo) and four special teams stops…In NFC Wild Card Playoff vs. Seattle, 1/8/11, recorded one special teams tackle.

COLLEGE – Played one season at Division II Stillman, where as a senior in 2009, he earned second-team All-American honors with 56 tackles and 9.5 sacks…Played in 31 games at Temple before transferring for his senior year, and tallying 139 tackles with 16.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and one blocked punt for the Owls…Posted 7.5 sacks as a junior and gained second-team All-MAC plaudits.

PERSONAL – Prepped at St. Joseph Regional (Montvale, N.J.) HS, where he played LB and WR and was a basketball standout…Participated in Rebuilding Together’s “Kickoff to Rebuild” event prior to Super Bowl XLVII in Algiers, where he assisted in painting the front of several renovated and rehabilitated houses for local residents and served as a celebrity judge for a barbeque competition…Junior Jovais Galette was born March 27, 1988 in Port Au Prince, Haiti.
