NFL CAREER – Bushrod has turned potential into production and become an anchor on the left side of the offensive front. After an understudy role his first two seasons, he’s distinguished himself as a starter since 2009 at the line’s most difficult position. His progression culminated with a season in 2011, where he blocked for Drew Brees’ blindside as part of a unit that amassed an NFL-record 7,474 total net yards and allowed only 24 sacks, tied for the second-fewest in the NFL. Bushrod was selected to the first Pro Bowl of his NFL career.  A fourth-round pick in 2007, he’s the only player the club has ever drafted out of Towson.
