NFL CAREER – A third-year offensive lineman with experience at all three interior positions, Olsen spent his first full season with the Saints in 2012, appearing in all 16 games with four starts as a blocking tight end. The Notre Dame product spent part of the 2011 season on the Washington Redskins practice squad before joining the Saints active roster for the postseason. Before being drafted by the Denver Broncos, where he made the active roster and saw action in one contest as a rookie, Olsen started at center and both guard positions in college, while playing in 41 games and starting his final 31 contests.

Started four contests as a blocking tight end…Recorded first career start and saw action on offense and special teams at Atlanta, Nov. 29…Started his second consecutive contest while also participating on special teams and along the offensive line at New York Giants, Dec. 9…Started as an additional blocker in the final two games at Dallas, Dec. 23, and vs. Carolina, Dec. 30, also playing on special teams and in the offensive line rotation. 2011 – Spent the entire regular season on the Washington practice squad after going to training camp with Denver. Signed to the Saints active roster for the postseason, where he was inactive for both contests. 2010 – Appeared in one game for Denver vs. Seattle, Sept. 19.
COLLEGE – Played 44 games at Notre Dame from 2006-09, starting his final 31 contests, seeing time at all three interior positions...Received third team All-America honors from The Sporting News and was named the Guardian of the Year (Notre Dame’s top offensive lineman) as a senior in 2009 while playing the center position for the first time...Penalized just once during his final 1,731 plays and allowed only four quarterback sacks in his last two years…Earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial design.
PERSONAL – Named the 2005 Gatorade Player of the Year in New York following his senior season at Brooklyn Poly (Brooklyn, N.Y.) Prep, where he played left tackle and did not allow a sack in his career...Competed on Poly Prep’s lacrosse team, scoring 55 goals as a junior while leading the school to a league title and 65 as a senior winning the city championship...Born on June 16, 1988, in Staten Island, N.Y.
