A New Orleans native who suffered a serious neck injury as a high school senior that did not allow him to play college football, the persistent Breaux took a route through the Gridiron Developmental Football League, the Arena Football League and the CFL, ultimately parlaying that success into a free agent contract with New Orleans. After securing a roster spot in training camp, he started all 16 games and finished with 49 tackles (38 solo), a team-high three interceptions and 23 passes defensed, and a fumble recovery. Breaux was voted by his teammates as the club’s 2015 Ed Block Courage Award winner, which is given annually to a player from each National Football League team who has persevered through adversity.

Dallas, Oct. 4, registered one tackle and two passes defensed…Recorded his first career interception at Philadelphia, Oct. 11. Also tallied five solo tackles, one tackle for loss and a pass defensed…Recorded two solo tackles and a career-high three passes defensed at Indianapolis, Oct. 25…Recorded a career-high six solo tackles and added a pass defensed vs. N.Y. Giants, Nov. 1…At Washington, Nov. 15, finished with four tackles (three solo) and two passes defensed…Vs. Carolina, Dec. 6, posted one solo tackle, a 22-yard interception return and two passes defensed before departing (hamstring)…Recorded five tackles (one solo) and one pass defensed at Tampa Bay, Dec. 13…Tallied four solo tackles, his third career interception and a career-high-tying three passes defensed vs. Jacksonville, Dec. 27…In team’s season finale at Atlanta, 1/3/16, registering an assisted tackle. Left game with an ankle injury and did not return. 2012-14 – Played two seasons for the Canadian Football League’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats. In two seasons, recorded 62 tackles, one sack, one interception returned for a touchdown, 10 passes defensed, three forced fumbles and a fumble recovery…Also played for the Arena Football League’s New Orleans VooDoo in 2013 and started his professional career in 2012 with the Louisiana Bayou Vipers in the Gridiron Developmental Football League in 2012.

COLLEGE – Committed to LSU as a high school senior and attended as a student but did not play following neck injury suffered in high school.

PERSONAL – Attended McDonogh 35 (New Orleans, La.) HS, where he played football prior to suffering a neck injury as a senior in 2006…Attended Southern Lab (Baton Rouge, La.) HS as a junior in 2005 due to Hurricane Katrina…Has participated in multiple community events, including serving as a celebrity judge during New Orleans Entrepreneurship week, a visit to the KIPP New Orleans Leadership Academy on behalf of Chevron U.S.A.’s “Fuel Your School” program, which helps fund materials and supplies for local public schools and attending a fundraiser to support construction of the St. Tammany Parish Childrens Museum…Born Oct. 25, 1989 in New Orleans, La.
