Saints host special teams clinic for high school coaches

Posted May 27, 2016

Special teams coordinator Greg McMahon put on the clinic

The New Orleans Saints hosted a special teams clinic for high school coaches on Friday, May 27 at the team's facility in Metairie.

More than 100 high school coaches from around the Gulf South region attended the 10th annual clinic, which included a full day of classroom instruction with Saints special teams coordinator Greg McMahon and college coaches. The college coaches that spoke during the day were: Willie Fritz (Tulane), Bryan Gasser (Iowa State), Charles Huff (Penn State), Adam Scheier (Wake Forest), Jay Boulware (Oklahoma) and Patrick Dougherty (Ball State).

Transportation was provided by American Luxury Limousine for coaches and speakers to and from the event.

"It’s our way of giving back to the community," McMahon said. "High school coaches, the youth coaches, they’re the ones that mold the players, so it has been very beneficial. That’s what the New Orleans Saints and Mr. Benson and Mickey Loomis and Coach Payton want, is to give back to the community and it has been a great way for these special teams coaches to present and to grow."
