Saints Postgame Notes
*New Orleans now has a 23-23 all-time record in preseason openers. They also now have a 2-3 record now playing in the Hall of Fame game. The Saints have won their preseason opener for the second consecutive season.
*New Orleans is now 5-0 all-time against the Cardinals in the preseason with two of the meetings taking place while the Cardinals were located in St. Louis.
*New Orleans will immediately travel to New England, where they will practice with the Patriots on Tuesday and Wednesday before playing them in their second exhibition of the season at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. on Thursday. Kickoff is at 6:30 p.m. CST and will be regionally televised on Cox Sports Television as well as being available in the New Orleans market on WVUE-8. The game can be heard on the Saints Radio Network (WWL 870 AM and 105.3 FM) in the New Orleans area.
*WR Joe Morgan, who played his home games at Fawcett Stadium in high school at adjoining McKinley and in college at Walsh, returned the opening kickoff for 29 yards. Morgan had three receptions for 35 yards. He also returned two punts for 34 yards.
*On New Orleans’ first drive, they went 77 yards on ten plays into the end zone on a one-yard touchdown run by RB ![]()

*Brees played the opening series, where he drove New Orleans to a touchdown, ending with a one-yard run by Ingram. Brees completed four-of-five passes for 41 yards with a 100.8 passer rating.
*Ingram, Sproles, and Thomas all had carries of 10-yards or more on New Orleans’ opening drive.

*Making his NFL debut, the rookie runner Cadet proved to be a weapon in the passing game, as he led the Saints in catches, receiving yardage and receiving touchdowns with eight grabs for 80 yards with one TD.

*The New Orleans starting defense enjoyed an impressive first three series’ as they recorded an interception and forced two three-and-outs, allowing only 21 net yards.
