The New Orleans Saints hosted 130 kids from Camp Tiger for a fun filled day at the team’s Practice Facility on Thursday.

The group took part in a Junior Training Camp/Saints Experience in the team’s indoor facility.

Camp Tiger, which gives disadvantaged and challenged children an enjoyable summer camp experience, is organized and staffed each year by volunteers from the first-year students at LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans.

Along with the training camp activities, the children toured the team’s facility and had lunch on the field.

“We hold this camp each year around this time and it’s a week of fun events for the kids,” said Camp Tiger Activities Chair Taylor Moss. “Some of these campers have been coming for years. They apply once and had so much fun they want to come back.”

This year, the week-long camp includes stops at the Global Wildlife Center, New Orleans City Park, Audubon Aquarium and Zoo, Louisiana Children's Museum and a Carnival at Jesuit High School.

MORE ON CAMP TIGER:
Camp Tiger was founded in 1985 by first-year students from the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. Its mission is to give disadvantaged and challenged children an enjoyable summer camp experience. For the campers, this may be their only chance during the summer to socialize with other children without being singled out for their disability. This week-long day camp lets campers be “just one of the kids” and provides them with freedom to play, socialize, and express themselves as healthy, vibrant children.
