Saints Agree to Terms with Three Players

Posted Feb 29, 2012

Exclusive Rights Free Agents S Jonathon Amaya, WR Adrian Arrington and LS Justin Drescher re-sign with Saints

The New Orleans Saints announced today that they have agreed to terms on one-year contracts with the following exclusive rights free agents; S Jonathon Amaya , WR Adrian Arrington and  LS Justin Drescher. The announcement was made by Saints’ Executive Vice-President/General Manager Mickey Loomis.

Arrington joined the Saints as a seventh round draft choice in 2008. In five regular season appearances, Arrington has made nine receptions for 110 yards (12.2 avg.).

In 2011, Arrington appeared in four regular season contests, catching two passes for 31 yards. He saw action in both postseason games, making one reception in each matchup.

After making a positive impression in the 2008 preseason with two receptions for 46 yards, Arrington spent the regular season on injured reserve with a turf toe injury. After recording three catches for 77 yards in the 2009 preseason, Arrington contributed in the regular season on the practice squad before being signed to the roster for last two playoff games.

In 2010, Arrington made the opening day roster following a preseason where he led the team in receiving with 11 catches for 245 yards (22.3 avg.) with two touchdowns. He spent four games on the active roster and 13 weeks on the practice squad, leading the team with seven receptions for 79 yards in the finale.

Amaya joined the Saints prior to the start of 2011 training camp via a trade from the Miami Dolphins. The three-year safety saw extensive action on special teams and also contributed on defense.

The former University of Nevada standout appeared in all 16 contests in 2011 and registered nine special teams tackles and a forced fumble in addition to ten tackles (five solo) on defense.

Drescher originally signed as a free agent with the Saints in late November of 2010 and served as the team’s long snapper for the final six regular season games of the 2010 season and the entire 2011 season.
