Leonhard, 5-8, 188, was originally an undrafted free agent out of the University of Wisconsin who has enjoyed an eight-year NFL career with the Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens, New York Jets and Broncos. The Tony, Wis. Native has appeared in 110 games with 61 career starts and has career totals of 382 tackles (250 solo), 3.5 sacks, eight interception returns for 141 yards, 31 passes defensed, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries, while adding 33 stops and three fumble recoveries on special teams. On return units, Leonhard has brought back 97 punts for 909 yards (9.4 avg.) and returned 13 kickoffs for 274 yards (21.1 avg.).
After signing with the Broncos at the start of training camp in 2012, he appeared in all 16 games with one start, while playing an important role in the club’s multiple defensive back packages and tied a career-high single-season best with a pair of interceptions, while adding 17 tackles (12 solo), three passes defensed, one special teams stop, one special teams fumble recovery and returning 15 punts for 89 yards.
