On December 15th, Super Bowl champion WR 
Entergy of New Orleans, Macy’s, Le Pavillon Hotel, Academy Sports, and All Saints Insurance have become major contributors for this annual event; that helped over 500 families last year. The “Saintly Christmas Affair” will be held at Franklin Avenue Baptist Church Family Life Center located at 2515 Franklin Avenue from 6:17 p.m until 8:17p.m.
Meachem has been challenging fans to donate unwrapped gifts. This is the second year Meachem has spearheaded the Neighborhood Housing Service of New Orleans Toy Give-Away. NHS of New Orleans is a 501c non-profit organization that provides comprehensive homeownership services for first-time homebuyers and existing homeowners through counseling, classroom training, financing options, construction management services, and community development initiatives.
Meachem attributes the Partnership Neighborhood Housing Services as the perfect match. "I'm just trying to do everything I can to help give back, to be a blessing to others," the Champion says. Meachem, along with his teammates, and other community partners look forward to showing that it's better to give than receive.
Community members are strongly encouraged to arrive early; gifts and toys are limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Families will also be able to learn about home-buyer initiatives, including affordable housing that can make families homeowners by next year’s holiday season.
