Playoff Flashback: NFC divisional playoffs, Jan. 13, 2007, Saints 27, Eagles 24

Posted Jan 9, 2014

Deuce McAllister set a team playoff record with 143 rushing yards

Running back Deuce McAllister set a team playoff record with 143 rushing yards in leading the New Orleans Saints to a come-from-behind victory over Philadelphia in the NFC Divisional playoffs. McAllister, makinghis first NFL postseason appearance, rushed for one touchdown and caught another.

New Orleans took the early lead after a pair of field goals, but Philadelphia struck on a 75-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter. The Saints responded with a lengthy drive capped by a four-yard TD burst by RB Reggie Bush, but the Eagles took a lead into halftime after an 80-yard touchdown drive. Philadelphia RB Brian Westbrook shook loose for a 65-yard touchdown run to open the second half, giving the Eagles a 21-13 advantage. But McAllister put the Saints ahead by capping the next two drives with a 5-yard scoring run and an 11-yard TD reception. Philadelphia would add a field goal in the final quarter, but the Saints forced a punt on the Eagles’ final possession, and the offense picked up a key first down to run out the clock and preserve the victory.
